Brian Sullivan

Brian Joseph Sullivan passed away at his home on September 12, 2023. He was 52 years old. A son of the Sullivans and O'Connells, Brian was raised in Toledo's south end. He attended St. Charles elementary, Bowsher High School, The Ohio State University, and the University of Findlay, where he earned an MBA degree. He was employed by the City of Toledo's Division of Water Reclamation for 21 years. He was a father, brother, uncle, devoted son, and loyal friend. His children, Brennan and Samantha, were the fountain of his joy and pride. Brian was a fan of the Buckeyes, NFL football, the Detroit Tigers, and movies (favorites included Platoon, Bad Santa, and Tropic Thunder). As a proud Irish descendent, Brian reveled in the celebration of St. Patrick 's Day. Even more, he loved Christmas. Brian was a connoisseur of Chi Chi's, Taco Bell, and Gino's cuisine (extra sauce, please) We'll laugh when we see photos of Brian as a child in his high-wasted pants, and we'll laugh again when we see him in his signature pose for nearly every adult photo. We'll smile when we recall Brian's quiet penchant for flowers and Yankee Candles (family referred to him as Martha), and we'll smile again when we remember his claim of ending his quest for Olympic swimming gold after careful reflection at the age 10. We will be warmed by Brian's affection for his group of life-long friends, we'll be grateful for the love that they returned, and we'll miss Brian's regaling of their youthful exploits. We will be proud when we remember Brian's loyalty to his family, and we will be comforted knowing that he is at peace and once again under the care of Pat and Denny. Brian is preceded in death by parents, Denny and Pat Sullivan. He is survived by his cherished children, Brennan and Samantha, by the mother of his children, Kelly Sullivan, and by his sisters, Bridgett (Sullivan) Emhuff and Maureen (Sullivan) Freeman. Family and friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S.
