Kathryn "Kate" Margaret Ginter Andrews

Kathryn Andrews (Ginter) earthly journey has finally ended. She passed away on May 17, 2016 in Toledo, Ohio. She was born to John and Belle Obee on July 2, 1920 in Battle Creek Michigan. Faith,family, and sports were Kate's passions. Besides attending daily Mass at St. Patrick's of Heatherdowns, she prepared and served food for parishioners funeral services, distributed Holy Communion and participated in Renew. Kate was the consummate Mom and Grandmother. The seven of us and our families were blessed with her constant love and attention. Family was top priority. The Ginter Open, an annual family golf outing, created and organized by Mom to reconnect our families, has been going on for 28 plus years. A true testimony of her family dedication. Central Catholic High School! You lost a great one! A graduate , a historian , a Presidents Medallion Award recipient, an avid and vocal supporter both financially and physically, ( probably attended more sporting events than anyone in the history of the school), and to have all seven of her children be graduates of CCHS, puts her in elite and exclusive Irish company. Kate love to read and loved to bowl, golf, and dance. She danced for groceries as a young girl at the local theatre and tapped dance with the Manhattan Dance Company well into her late 60's. Mom you will be deeply missed. We will take comfort in knowing that you are free of pain and that the exemplary life you led will open heaven's door and into the presence of the Lord. Special thanks to Carolyn, Victoria and Laura with Hospice for their compassionate and professional care of Mom in her final days. She was preceded in death by husbands Glenn Ginter and Tom Andrews; brothers John Obee, Duncan Obee; sister Marie Pettit; sons-in-laws John Periatt and Dave Noggle; grandchild Kathy McCloskey. She is survived by her children Carol(Jim) Shrader, Mary Noggle, Don(Linda) Ginter, John Ginter, Jim (Karen) Ginter, Kathy (Doug)Greenlee and Teresa Earl; twenty grandchildren;nine step-grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd. on Friday, May 20 from 2-8 p.m., with a Scripture Service at 7. The funeral services will begin at St. Patrick’s of Heatherdowns Church, Saturday, May 21 at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial at Calvary cemetery.
