Anne Marie Carroll

Anne Marie Carroll, 92 years old, of Sylvania, OH passed away on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Ebeid Hospice in the loving arms of her children and grandchildren. Anne Marie was born on June 29, 1920 to the union of Kathleen J. (Bowes) and William G. Smith. She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. On May 5, 1945 she married Frank L. Carroll, Jr. beginning her lifelong career as a loving wife, mother , grandmother and great grandmother. She and Frank raised their seven children together in the Old West End. Her children have fond memories of all the meals she prepared for holiday gatherings at the family home on Scottwood Avenue. Anne Marie was extremely proud of her Irish Heritage. Anne Marie was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen, loving husband Frank, brothers William D. Smith and Richard J. Smith, sister-in-law Rita Smith, and daughter-in-law Linda Carroll. Anne Marie is survived by her children Lee (Jane) Carroll, Kate (Norm) Stamm, Don Carroll, Marcia (John) Robie, Janet Carter, Phil (Mary) Carroll, and Patty (Steve) Baird, grandchildren Beth (Michael) Punsalan, Julie (Carey) Lumeng, Katie (James) Poplawski, Jennifer (Shawn) Segulin, Maureen (Brian) Carmody, Brian (Kate) Stamm, Jack (Carrie Hawk) Carroll, Liz Carroll, Andy (Danielle Spinato) Robie, Peter (Colleen Hanlon) Robie, Alex Carter, Dane Carter, Shannon Carroll, Erin Carroll, Maureen Carroll, Ryan Baird, Adam Baird, Megan Baird, Caitlyn Baird, 16 great grandchildren, and sister-in-law Jean Smith. Anne Marie’s children would like to extend their deepest gratitude to their sister, Marcia and her husband John for their loving and compassionate care of their mother in the last years of her life. They would also like to thank the staff at Sunset Village for their loving care over the past year. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd. Funeral services will begin in the mortuary on Saturday, February 9 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at Our Lady Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, 2535 Collingwood Blvd. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, or St. Joseph’s Church, Sylvania.
