Carol Sniadowski

Carol E. Sniadowski, 82, died peacefully and surrounded by family at St. Anne's Hospital on November 25, 2021. She chose Thanksgiving Day, her favorite holiday, to reunite with her mom and dad in Heaven. She was born on May 29, 1939 in Toledo to Richard and Sybil (Gira) Bossert. Carol graduated from Clay High School with the class of 1957. She met her husband, Al, on a blind date and they were married on February 10, 1962. Because she was an only child, her dream in life was to have a large family. They successfully carried out her dream by having six daughters. Carol loved fishing and camping and traveling through many of the United States with her family. Together she and Al built their dream cottage on Lake Leelanau in Traverse City, MI. She stained and polyurethaned each and every piece of wood that was used inside and out, including siding, trim and cabinetry. Carol was an avid seamstress and always took great pride in the fact that she sewed the bridesmaids dresses for all of her daughters' weddings. Her sewing benefited hundreds of children over the past few years at Rebekah's Haven, a local homeless shelter. She and Al would provide full size pillows, each dressed in one of her handmade pillowcases for the children that came to the shelter. She enjoyed crocheting and made a blanket for each and every grandchild and great grandchild when they were born. Carol loved bowling in her younger years, but when she no longer could, she traded in the ball for an iPad and took to Facebook and was able to watch her entire family grow. The thing she was best at and loved to do the most was cooking. The meals she made will be the most missed. Carol was the Grandma that was always up late playing games and eating popcorn with the grandkids. She truly was one of a kind. Carol relied heavily on her faith in God and attended Sunday Mass religiously whether she was in or out of town. Carol was preceded in death by her mom and dad. She is survived by her loving husband of just shy of 60 years, Al and their six daughters, Shelly (Bob) Taylor, Jill Streur, Pam (Paul) Mapes, Debbie (Rich) Roediger, Kelly (Rob) DeMars, Wendy (Matt) Keel; Grandchildren, Julie (Mike), Brad (Bethany), Scott (Heather), Lexi (Chelsea), Timmy (Whitney), Christopher (Bethany), Brittney, Keyonna, Ryan (Tiffany), Josh (Alishia), Kyle (Sarina), Joey, Eric, Galen, Nicole, Aaron, Jeremy, Taylor (Evan), Justin, Max, Andrew, Lizzy and Gabby; Great-Grandchildren, Riley, Hudson, Benjamin, Ava, Colton, Lyla, Henry, Kade, Cooper, Zoee, Holden, Abby, Jenna, Carter, Owen, Alivia, Josiah, Jaxon, Carson, Kinsley, Aria, Colton, Oliver and three more arriving in 2022. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd. on Friday, January 7th from 2:00-8:00 pm with a Rosary service at 7:00. The funeral will begin at Coyle on Saturday, January 8th at 10:30 am followed by Mass at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church at 11:00. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
