Carol Ann Vasquez

Carol Ann Clark Vasquez Mother, daughter, sister and wife, Carol Vasquez, passed away on February 7, 2010, after a brief and valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Carol was born March 9, 1952, to Paul A. and Juanita Clark. Carol is the mother of Erin Kolinski Kohlenberg, and wife to Louis Vasquez, since 2001. Carol graduated from Central Catholic High School and for many years lived in Monroe, Michigan. She was employed at Flower Hospital for the past seven years and was previously employed for 17 years at Arch Communications. A wonderful Mom to Erin, Carol was always a strong and guiding presence for her daughter. Whether it was library visits and reading, doing crafts together, or the endless driving for Notre Dame swim team, Erin always knew that her Mom was there for her and with her. A fond memory for both Carol's daughter and mother will be the countless Saturdays that Carol organized for them to spend together, strengthening a three generation bond. An avid reader and gardener, Carol enjoyed her second home where friends and family often came for summer and holiday gatherings at 'the lake'. The oak swing will be empty without Carol. Carol is survived by daughter Erin (Terry) Kohlenberg, mother Juanita Clark, husband Louis Vasquez, brother Jeffrey (Carol) Clark, nephew Paul (Kristen) Clark, step-son Brian (Colleen) Vasquez, and special uncle Duane Wachowiak, West Palm Beach, Florida. Carol was preceded in death by her father Paul Clark. Carol will be missed and long remembered by the Vasquez family- Bob and Kathy, Stephen and David; Brian and Heather, Allison, Briann and Krystyane; Michael and Debra. Her life was much too short but Carol will be held in the hearts and memories of Erin and Terry, Lou, Jeff, Juanita, and all who knew her. While the sudden illness stunned her family, Carol faced her condition with characteristic strength, grace, and practical planning. Special thanks to Hospice of Northwest Ohio; the nurses and staff are angels on earth sent from God. Thanks also to Rev. Robert J. Reinhart, of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church; his spiritual guidance gave Carol comfort in her transition to the after life.
