Carolyn W. Mariea

Carolyn W. Mariea died March 19, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Sylvia Williams. Carolyn married Harold L. Mariea on June 29, 1957. Carolyn graduated first in her class from Whitney High School. During her high school years, Carolyn worked at Enterprise Sheet Metal where she met Harold. She later worked at LaSalle’s and Tiedtke’s. Carolyn worked at Blade Printing until joining her husband in Germany for two years and working for the U.S. Government. When they returned home, Carolyn worked for U.S. Standard Sign. After a 14-year break for family time, Carolyn worked at Executone as Office Manager and Accountant. When Harold went into his own business in 1981 as President and Owner of Waterville Sheet Metal, Carolyn ran the office as Vice President of Administration and also did all of the accounting work. Carolyn and Harold both retired when he sold the business in December of 1997. Over the years Carolyn took many advanced courses and classes of interest such as cake decorating, and she particularly enjoyed cooking, for which she was known for her delicious meals, homemade breads, and entertaining. Always interested in her daughters school activities, she was room mother, PTO officer, and served on the executive board of the Perrysburg Athletic Boosters. Carolyn always attended every game, meet, or event in which her daughters took part, both home and across the country. Carolyn was instrumental in starting Sheet Metal Local 6 Auxiliary and establishing their local chapter, acting as its first President. She was involved in many community activities including red cross blood bank, church activities, and a brownie and girl scout leader. She was on BGSU’s parents advisory board and the originator of parents fact line. Carolyn leaves her loved and loving husband, Harold, along with daughter Michele Mariea Martin and her husband, Neal, and children, Melissa and Derek, and his wife Erin; daughter Cherise Mariea McCoy and her husband, Aaron, and their two sons, Connor and Gavin; also surviving are Carolyn’s brother Paul Williams and his wife, Judy, brother-in-law Richard Mariea and his wife, Walling, and sister-in-law Nancy Davidson; Carolyn also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as other dear family members and friends. Memorial services and graveside were held privately with the family on March 23, 2013, with the assistance of Coyle Funeral Home on Reynolds Road.
