Duncan Lee Patrick Murphy

Duncan Lee Murphy, age 87, of Toledo, passed away peacefully to eternal life in his home with family by his side. He was faithfully taken care of by his eldest daughter, Theresa, for years due to his long illness with Parkinson's disease. He was born on April 28, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio to Styles and Anne F. (Groth) Murphy who both have preceded him in death. Duncan was a machinist for many years at Doehlar -Jarvis Inc., and retired in 1995. He was a veteran who served in Korea in U.S. Army. Duncan had a great love for life and a joyful, generous spirit. He loved to travel to see the beautiful mountains, the outdoors, fishing and golfing. He was always ready for a good game of golf-rain, shine or snow. He especially loved his family, his wife Dolores, his 3 daughters and greatly cherished his grandchildren. Surviving is his loving wife of 60 years, Dolores, his 3 daughters, Theresa Murphy, Kim (Mark) Otting, Susan (Jeff) Gramza; grandchildren, Christine (Greg), Amy (Caleb), Joseph, Luke, Lydia (Omar), Clara (Tim), John, Kathleen, Anna, Patrick and one great grandchild, Leland "Lee"; brothers, Robert (Jean) Murphy, Ronald (Sue) Murphy, his youngest brother Dennis (Nancy) Murphy who has also preceded him in death. Also surviving are brother-in-law and Catholic Priest, Fr. Jim Holup, sister-in-law, Carol (Bill) Koback and many nieces and nephews and other relatives. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd. Toledo, Ohio on Friday, July 21, 2023 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. The funeral will begin at Coyle at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Mass at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Maumee, OH on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
