Edward V. Clark

Edward V. Clark, 82, passed away on Friday, April 4th, 2025. He was born in Toledo on October 12th, 1942 to Virgil and Bereta Cark. Ed attended St. Francis de Sales high school, graduating in 1960. He went on to become a proud graduate of University of Notre Dame, class of 1964 and The Ohio State University School of Law, class of 1967. Ed was a loving husband and father who worked hard to be able to enjoy many vacations with his family. He was an avid golfer as a longtime member of Heatherdowns Country Club where he also served several terms on the board. In his retirement from practicing law after 55 years, he especially enjoyed playing gin rummy. His garden was always the talk of the neighborhood in springtime with beautiful displays of tulips, daffodils and hyacinths. Ed was an active member of the Toledo community, participating in charity law work for the East Toledo Community Center, serving on the board of Genoa Savings and Loan, and serving as President for the Lucas County Bar Association. Everyone who knew Ed was greeted with his easy smile and a spirited conversation and he will be missed dearly. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters Patricia, Virginia and Kathryn. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon (Tscherne); son Gregory (Kim) Clark; daughter Dr. Gretchen (Matt) Gerace; grandchildren Anthony Gerace; Bridget Gerace and niece Patricia Mann. The family invites friends and loved ones to share in celebrating Ed's life. A visitation will be held at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Road, Toledo on Thursday April 10th 2025 from 4p.m. - 7p.m., with a Scripture Service at 6:30. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday April 11th at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo at 10 a.m. with luncheon to follow. Interment will be Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to St. Frances de Sales High School or St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.
