Felice Sophia Grady

Felice Mois Grady passed away peacefully on August 8, 2015. Felice Sophia Mois was born to Polish immigrants Peter and Sophia Mois on February 3, 1925 in Nanticoke, PA. Her family moved to Toledo when she was 12 years old and Felice attended Notre Dame Academy. After graduation, she pursued her passion for Nursing by enrolling in St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing. Felice then joined St. Vincent’s Hospital, where she rose to the position of Head Nurse. One particular patient in her care was insistent that she meet his son. A romance began between Felice and James Patrick Grady, and they married in August, 1949. Devotion to each other and their family was a hallmark of their marriage. Felice and Jim joined Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church after marriage, where she remained a parishioner until her death. Together they raised six children, a few birds, and several dogs. Deeply Spiritual, Felice relied on her strong catholic faith to help her through the trials of life. She was a generous soul who prayed daily for others. Felice also showed her love through cooking and baking. The annual Christmas baking season was highly anticipated by family, friends, and the medical professionals who cared for her. Jim preceded Felice in death in 1996 and she very much anticipated their reunion in Heaven. Brothers Leonard, Millard, and the Reverend Napoleon Kotz, as well as sister Stephanie Donakowski also preceded her. Felice was adored and will be greatly missed by her children; daughters Kathryn (Preston), Mary, Christine and sons James (Angela), Peter (Clare) and Martin (Stephanie) along with grandchildren Sara, Michael, Daniel (Nicole), Alex, Lisa, Megan, and Brian. Faithful pups Emmet and Fiona will miss her loving touch. The family wishes to thank the many physicians, nurses, and caregivers who provided Felice with such excellent care these many years. Special thanks to the staffs at Mercy St. Vinent Medical Center and The Toledo Center, Hospice of Northwest Ohio who provided great care during her final days. The family is also grateful to her Family physician, Dr. Christopher Bates, whose commitment and empathy enriched her life. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S Reynolds Rd; on Friday August 14, 2015 from 2-8 pm, where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will begin in the mortuary on Saturday August 15, 2015 at 8:45 am followed by the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 9:15 am.
