Judith Aileen Gerschultz

Judith Aileen (Nachazel) Gerschultz Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother daily trivia challenge champion, avid reader, and the inspiration and guiding light for her family. She was born on July 10, 1944, to Robert (Harold) and Margaret (Marge) Nachazel. She, her parents and her siblings, Charlotte, Bob, Tom, and Margaret grew up in the Old West End on Robinwood Street. Judy graduated from Rosary Cathedral and Central Catholic High School and later enjoyed serving on the reunion committee having recently helped plan their 55th reunion for the Class of 1962. Judy went to Mercy School of Nursing and received her RN in 1965. She married the love of her life Ron Gerschultz in 1966. Judy passed peacefully the evening of October 24, 2017, with her dignity, wisdom, love, and compassion intact surrounded by her loving husband and family. She instilled in her children and grandchildren the values of education, hard work, kindness and the need to live a life that leaves the world a better place. In addition to these values Judy lived a life dedicated to her faith and her love of God. Judy enjoyed special friendships with her book club, her reunion committee and her Victory Center ladies. A special thank you to Dr. Vogel and Dr. Xia and the Flower Hospital staff as well as Hospice of NW Ohio. Judy is survived by her husband Ron of 51 years; daughter Anne Merrels, her husband Drew and grandchildren Jacob and Lindsey; daughter Laura Swanson and granddaughters Marit and Sydney; daughter Amy Graham and grandchildren Maria and Rhys; sisters Charlotte Donovan and Margaret Nachazel and brother Tom Nachazel. Judy was proceeded in death by her parents; her brother, Bob Nachazel and sister-in-law Geraldine Nachazel; and brother-in-law Robert Donovan. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd. on Friday, October 27, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:00. The funeral Mass will begin on Saturday, October 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Regina Coeli Church, with an hour visitation starting at 9:00. Interment will be private.
