Margaret Trowbridge

By now I hope mom is settling into her place in Heaven with her daughter Lucy (Lucille Smith-Wallace), her son Ira Trowbridge, her grandson Bryan Smith and her husband Bryce, and of course her beloved dog Sammy. Margaret Florence Griswold Trowbridge, 96, died on November 5, 2022 at UTMC. She was born in Nunica, Michigan June 19, 1926 to Apolis and Florence Griswold. She was the 4th of 7 children of her parents, and the oldest girl. Her family was short on money but long on love. She married the "One and Only Love", Bryce Alton Trowbridge, on July 21, 1942 just prior to his 4 year ARMY deployment during World War II. Both were full of adventure, loved travel and never met a stranger. They had a wonderful and full life together with their 3 children; Lucile Eloise, Nancy Belle and Ira Benjamin. Margaret pursued her talent as a seamstress both as a hobby and in her employment. The quilts she made were cherished gifts by all. Margaret also loved to garden, cook and bake, and learned to do all of the things needed to complete their "adventures" -camping, making arrows, shooting bow and arrows, making and selling jewelry, running a food wagon, etc. Of late she looked forward to the Farmer's Market every Saturday morning, where she would have coffee and talk with friends. Margaret was able to live on her own and for the last 16 months she had the help of her niece, Beverly Singerling, who was her faithful cook, gardener and companion. Margaret struggled with the early loss of both her daughter and husband and later, her son. But her bright attitude lived on even when she missed them so. All who knew her will remember her positive but down to earth attitude, her energy and her kindness. She is survived by Nancy Belle Carroll (Peter) daughter, Ann Trowbridge, daughter-in-law; her grandchildren Jennifer Smoot, and her son Bryan; Bryce Bonner and his children Isabel and Harrison Ty Bronner; Dr. Julia Keen (Eric); Janet Kuiper (Matt) and her daughters Machi and Jayse; Isacc (Meghan) Trowbridge and his children, Benjamin and Avery. Of note she was soon to be a great grandmother. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd. in Toledo on Friday, November 25, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Donations may be given to Nature's Nursery.
