Margery Ann Doncouse

Margery Ann "Gedert" Doncouse, 82, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who touched many lives with her kindness and dedication to her community. Marge attended St. Charles and Central Catholic schools, and was a proud graduate of Rogers High School. She also attended Lourdes College. Marge spent 25 years working for the Toledo Board of Education, primarily as a school bus driver and supervisor, and finished her career there in food service, retiring in 2002. She spent her early working years on the family farm and at Dudley's Drive-In; Marge worked anywhere she could to support her family. Her faith and service were central to her life. Marge was a founding member of St. Jude's Parish and was active there until it closed and then became a member of Little Flower. Her faith activities included the Altar Society, Eucharistic Ministry, being a Lector, and was a RCIA team member. Marge volunteered her entire life but was most proud of the 18 years of service she provided to the Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol. A passionate sports fan, she coached basketball for many years. She also found joy in puzzles, fishing, and playing cards, especially euchre. Marge is survived by her loving family: her brother, Bernie Gedert, sister Wilma Simon; her children, Steve Doncouse (Marcia), Cathy Beck, Patty Walerius (Tim), and Candy Malczewski (Eric); and her cherished grandchildren, Caitlin, Kaylee, Alex, Samantha, and Ben. Marge was preceded in death by her parents and six of her siblings. She will be deeply missed, but forever remembered, for her generosity, faith, and love for family and friends. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, Ohio 43614 on Tuesday April 1, 2025 from 3-7 pm where the Scripture service will be held at 3:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church, 5522 Dorr St., Toledo, Ohio 43615 on Wednesday April 2, 2025 at 11:00 am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Little Flower Catholic Church, American Cancer Society, or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
