Nathalie Thibodeau Louviaux

Nathalie Thibodeau Louviaux passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, surrounded by love and the legacy of a life well lived. Born on a wintry day, December 1, 1937, to Rosamond and Cyril Thibodeau, Nathalie was baptized at St. Louis, a French church that inspired her name - from Natale, meaning both "Christmas" and "birthday." Her early years were spent in South Toledo, where the family became part of the St. Charles parish. Nathalie attended St. Charles School and later graduated from St. Ursula Academy, a foundation that instilled in her strength, faith, and resilience. She continued her education at the University of Toledo, where she met the love of her life, Robert Louviaux, MD. They were married in July of 1960 and began their life together in Toledo. They found their cherished family home on Beverly Drive, where Nathalie would live for more than 40 years, raising their four children with love, humor, and unwavering devotion. After dedicating herself to raising her children, Nathalie reentered the workforce at Jacobson's, where she spent 10 fulfilling years. She went on to serve as Director of Development at St. Vincent's Hospital, followed by meaningful roles at WGTE Public Media, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, and ultimately at Coyle Funeral Home, where she helped many families through their own journeys of grief with empathy and compassion. Nathalie was a proud and devoted mother to Robert Louviaux II, Elizabeth Louviaux, Aimee (Jeff) Stanton, and Nichole Louviaux (Bill Vining). She was a loving grandmother to Brittany Case and Gage Louviaux, and a joyful great-grandmother to Phoenix Leone. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her husband, Robert Louviaux, MD. Nathalie was a woman of deep strength, elegance, and kindness. She had a unique gift for connecting with others - her warmth, wisdom, and sharp wit left an impression wherever she went. She served as a mentor, a volunteer, and a friend to many, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Visitation will be held at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S Reynolds Rd, Toledo, OH 43614 on Monday, May 12 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 13 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 2255 Central Grove, Toledo, OH 43614. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Nathalie's honor to a local charity close to your heart, as she believed deeply in giving back to the community that gave her so much.
