Robert Allan Kahle

Robert A. Kahle PhD, 67, passed away June 22, 2016, at his home, following a battle with Cancer. He was born May 2nd, 1949 in Lima to Herman and Imogene (Wyant) Kahle. He was a graduate of Kalida High School, Bachelors from the University of Dayton, and Doctorate from the University of Toledo. He was part of Graduate Medical Education with Mercy in Toledo since 1980. He began as the Director of Behavioral Services in the Family Medicine Residency Program for many years working with resident physicians. Since 2007 he was the Director of Faculty Development and Educational Outcomes. In his role he provided education to Program Directors, faculty and residents related to professional development in teaching and education. He was an integral part of the excellence in Graduate Medical Education at Mercy. He thoroughly enjoyed numerous actives such as spending time outside working around the yard, being in the pool, going to grandkids’ activities, traveling, fishing, watching college basketball, playing his guitars, and reading his Bible. Bob will be lovingly remembered for his love of the Lord and tender devotion to family. His mother Imogene survives in Kalida. He survived by his wife Kathy and three children Chandra (Harry Rorarius) Kahle, Colonel Jonathan (Robin) Beasley, Justin (Kristy) Laux Sr., grandchildren Ciara and Kendra Rorarius, Jacob, Jared, Joel and Andrew Beasley, Justin Jr.,Brendan and Krystyna Laux. . Also surviving are Jan (Denny) Metzger, Nancy Englehart, Chuck (Davia) Kahle, Karen (Jeff) Gross, sister-in-law Terra (Steven) Kahle, Marilyn (Steve) Baxter, and sister-in-law Lois (Tim) Kahle, mother-in-law Barbara Brock, brothers/sisters-in-laws: Linda (Gary) Kowalczyk, Jeri (Charlie) Nolan, Douglas Brock, Karen (Kess) McLennan, Regina (Doug) Huff, Kathy (Dave) Hasse, Suzanne (Robert) Maglia, Edward (Jane), Randall Sr. (Sharon), William (Jennifer), and Robert Suliga. Bob and Kathy together had 29 nieces and nephews and 12 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Herman Kahle, brothers Steven and Tim Kahle, father-in-law Gerald Brock, mother-in-law Marda Enbody-Suliga, Edward Suliga, Sr., brother-in-law John Suliga, and Nephew Joseph Sedlock. Bob would like to thank all of his family and friends for their support through his battle with cancer. Friends may visit Wednesday June 29, from 3-8 PM at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Road, Toledo, Ohio. The Funeral service will be Thursday, June 30 with viewing from 10-11 AM and service at 11 AM at Garden Park Christian Church, 8605 Salisbury Road, Monclova, Ohio. Interment will be at Toledo Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorial contributions to be made to Senior Independence Hospice, Garden Park Christian Church, or Mercy Medical Education.
