Sandra Kohlenberg

Sandra Mary Kohlenberg 72 years of Monclova, passed away at her home on Thursday May 13th 2021. Sandra was born to Chester and Veronica Rybka on November 8 1948 in Toledo, Ohio along with her twin sister Susan. Sandra was the youngest of five sisters Carolyn, Diane, Rosalie, and Susan. Sandra grew up on Poinsettia Ave in Toledo Ohio. She attended Regina Coeli grade school, and Whitney Vocational school, where she studied dental hygiene graduating in 1966. During her time at Whitney, she worked for Dr. Anstead as a dental assistant. Upon graduating from Cuyahoga Community College, Sandra returned to work with Dr. Anstead as a dental hygienist. She continued to work for Dr. Anstead until the birth of her first son. Sandra meet Larry Kohlenberg in 1970, and the two were married in December of 1972. The couple eventually settled in Monclova and had two sons. After the birth of her second son, she joined Dr. Posluszny office on his first day of private practice. Sandra remained with Dr. Posluszny's office until the time of her illness in December of 2020. Sandra was very proud of her work as a dental hygienist, and looked forward to each day with her patients and co-workers. Sandra was an active member St. Joan of Arc Parish where she volunteered as a eucharistic minister, and usher. She was an avid gardener, and loved spending her days in her gardens along with her dogs and constant companions Harley and Venus. She was a dedicated Ohio State fan who never missed a chance to cheer on her Buckeyes. She also loved to bake, and was renowned for her apple pies and traditional polish coffee cakes. In keeping with her families long standing tradition, she would bake polish coffee cakes every Christmas and Easter. She would then send them to all of her sisters, nieces and nephews to bring them a taste of home during the holidays. Sandra was a gentle soul, and a source of constant joy and happiness to her family and friends. Sandra always happily put the needs of other above her own. She is survived by her husband Larry, her sons Terrance (Erin), Christopher, and her sisters Carolyn (Ronald), Diane (William), Rosalie, and Susan. Sandra was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Bob Amglin (Rosalie) in 2014. Visitation will be held at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S Reynolds Rd on Thursday May 20th from 2 pm to 7pm. Funeral services will begin in the mortuary on Friday May 21, 2021 at 10:30 am followed by the funeral mass at St. Joan of Arc Church on Heatherdowns Blvd at 10:30 am.
