Sharon Elizabeth Lewis

“A life not lived for others is not a life” - Mother Teresa Sharon Elizabeth Lewis, a devoted Mother and Grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Born on Halloween 1939 Sharon would have been 73 next month. Sharon was known for her generosity of spirit, love of Christ, devotion to her family and friends and her contagious laughter. She was one of three children born to her loving parents Cecilia and Gerald Bowsher in the Darby area of Toledo. Sharon and her family appeared many times in the Toledo Blade throughout her childhood and days at Notre Dame Academy due to her stunning beauty and strong spirit. Sharon was an extremely dedicated worker but always put her family first. She worked as an executive assistant at the Lucas County Courthouse, Millar Elevator and Faurecia before retiring 2006. Sharon had the joy of her lifelong friendship with Joanne Jurek who preceded her in death. It gives us peace to know that Sharon returned to the arms of the two ladies she loved most; her mother and best friend. If you listen closely you can almost hear the laughter coming from above. Sharon was known for her devotion to her three children Patty, Terry and Kathy. Growing up she provided us with a clear example of how to live joyfully and demonstrated to each one of us what unconditional love looks like. Her children adored and tried to spoil her every chance they could get. She left this world knowing that all of her sacrifices were appreciated by the people she touched. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and older brother Gerald Bowsher. She is survived by her younger brother Larry (Tonee) Bowsher of Michigan; Patty (Paul) Sopko of Perrysburg; Terry Lewis Chicago, Illinois; Kathy (Rick) Thompson Woodstock, Georgia and her grandchildren Paige and Luke Sopko, Courtney Lewis, Jack and Jenna Thompson. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home; 1770 S Reynolds Rd on Sunday September 23, 2012 from 2-8 pm where a scripture service will be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will begin in the mortuary on Monday September 24 at 9:30 am followed by the funeral mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may take the form of a donation to Notre Dame Academy. Mom would never say goodbye, not even at the end, instead she would say see ya’. So Mom, we love you and miss you with every inch of our souls. See ya’.
