Sharon Rose Steele

Sharon Rose Steele, age 82, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family, at Mercy Health - St. Anne Hospital on January 8, 2023. Sharon was born in Toledo on April 23, 1940, to Leroy and Naomi Koepfer. She was a member of Immaculate Conception (Darby) Parish. She attended both St Ursula and Libbey High School where she graduated in 1958. Sharon worked as a bank teller for most of her career at National Bank followed by First National Bank and later by Fifth Third Bank of Northwest Ohio. After retiring from banking, she became a cashier at Babies "R" Us; a job that she absolutely loved. Sharon loved to spend time with family and friends. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time at Clark Lake and travel to the numerous beaches in Florida, Virginia Beach and Myrtle Beach. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Henry "Hank" and sister-in-law Sylvia Koepfer and their granddaughter Madyson "Mady" Niles; brother-in-law Edward "Eddie" Steele and his daughter Tammy Steele; and sister-in-law Ann "Tootie" Terrell. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 60 years, Otto Paul Steele; loving son and daughter-in-law, Otto James and Kimberly Steele; caring grandchildren, Hanna Steele, Austin Snyder and Allie Snyder; sister-in-law, Linda Steele; numerous loving nieces and nephew; and cousins Sarah Molnar and Owen (Janet) Grant. The family would like to express our gratitude to doctors, nurses and staff within the Mercy Health System for their dedication, compassion and empathy over the years. In particular, the family would like to thank Dr. James Tita for his exceptional care of Sharon over the years. Visitation will be held at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Road, Toledo, OH, on Friday, January 13, 2023, from 4-7 p.m. with a Rosary service that will begin at 6:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be officiated by Father Robert Reinhart and will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 10 a.m. Immaculate Conception (Darby) Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Mary Grove cemetery.
