Thomas Henry Justen III

Thomas H. Justen, III "Tommy" of Monclova, Ohio, died on July 29, 2024 at St. Clare Commons in Perrysburg. He was born May 3, 1950 in Toledo to Thomas H. Justen Sr. and Alicemae (Stewart) Justen. Tom was a graduate of Anthony Wayne High School, class of 1969. He married Carol Boden on February 29, 1972 at the Athena Airforce Base in Athens, Greece, where Tom was stationed on the U.S. S. John F. Kennedy aircraft carrier. Tom and Carol were together for 36 years, and she preceded him in death in 2007. They enjoyed boating at Nettle Lake, vacations on the Yucatan Peninsula, where they would Scuba dive and snorkel. They also enjoyed their Friday date nights dancing. Tom loved fishing, hunting, and participated in the Civilian Marksmanship Program at Camp Perry in the National Long Range Matches for several years. In 2023, Tom was honored with a Lifetime Award from the Plumbers, Pipefitters and Service Mechanics Union, Local 50, for 50 years of loyal membership. His specialty was welding. Tom was a member of the Swanton American Legion and served on the Honor Guard. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Thomas H. Justen, II, his wife Carol, his son Timothy R. Justen, his daughter Rachel M. Justen, and granddaughter Madison A. Justen; father and mother in law Robert and Elizabeth Boden, and sister in law Mary E. Jones. His loving dog and faithful companion black lab, Murphy. He is survived by his wife Helen Justen and her 3 children and 4 grandchildren; his son Timothy R. Justen, II (Sarah); grandchildren Lilah, Violet, Jasper, Henry and Juniper; sister Debbie (Dave) Jaegle; nieces and nephews Chad, Alison, Justen, Brittani, Hannah, Austin, and Ayden Jaegle; brother in law Tom Jones, niece and nephew Tom Jones, Jr. and Jennifer Jones, as well as many cousins. Tom's family would like to thank the staff at St. Clare Commons for the wonderful care, especially his nurses Karen and Kellie. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd. on Friday, August 2 from 3:00 -7:00 p.m. with a funeral service and military honors at 6:00. Interment will be private. Memorial donations may be given to Memory Lane.
