I am so sorry to hear about your mother. She was one of my favorite clients. I never, ever thought I would have the privilege of being her attorney. I remember what an attractive lady she was when I was in grade school, and I admired her from afar. She had quite a wit, and her family was of utmost importance to her. I remember her always talking lovingly about her husband Leo. Once I had a home appointment with her near Christmas. When I left, she gave me a whole plate full of homemade Christmas cookies. My boyfriend at the time was reluctant to eat one, saying that they were too pretty to eat. We ate them, but he was right. They were the best looking Christmas cookies I ever ate.
She told me that once she had some medical problem that kept her from doing her housework. She said she almost had a heart attack because she couldn't scrub her kitchen floor. I have no doubt she was telling the truth. She would worry so much about her children. It was so difficult for her to deal with her daughter Patricia's cancer. And she worried herself sick over Dennis. I didn't even know he passed away. until I read her obituary. She was one great lady, and I am sure all of you children are proud to call her Mom.
